چکیده

The slaughterhouse industry produces large amounts of highly polluted wastewater which needs to be treated before being discharged water. Thus, this work was conducted investigate the feasibility treating using combined chemical coagulation and electro-Fenton methods. We studied effect process parameters such as polyaluminum chloride (PAC) concentration (25, 50, 75, 100 mg/L) for hydrogen peroxide (500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000, 4000 mg/L), pH solution (3, 5, 7, 10), reaction time (5, 10, 15, 30, 45, 120 min) voltage (10, 20, 40 V) on removal oxygen demand (COD), biochemical (BOD), total suspended solids (TSS), Kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN), fecal coliforms (FC). optimum efficiency obtained at PAC = 75 mg/L, min, 3, H2O2 2500 V 20 V, resulted in 89.55% COD, 88.88% BOD, 91.27% TSS, 69.23% TKN, 100% FC. findings demonstrated that processes effectively efficiently treat wastewater. results research can used by competent authorities increase treatment protect environment.

Slaughterhouse Wastewater Treatment by Combined Chemical Coagulation and Electrocoagulation Process

Slaughterhouse wastewater contains various and high amounts of organic matter (e.g., proteins, blood, fat and lard). In order to produce an effluent suitable for stream discharge, chemical coagulation and electrocoagulation techniques have been particularly explored at the laboratory pilot scale for organic compounds removal from slaughterhouse effluent. The purpose of this work was to investig...

Pharmaceutical Wastewater Chemical Oxygen Demand Reduction: Electro-Fenton, UV-enhanced Electro-Fenton and Activated Sludge

In this study, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) from a pharmaceutical wastewater (PhW) was reduced by several techniques such as electro-Fenton (EF), photo electro-Fenton (PEF) and activated sludge (AS) processes and the obtained data were compared with each other. The effects of several parameters such as pH, current density, H2O2/Fe2+ molar ratio, volume ratio of ...

Investigating the efficiency of chemical coagulation/Electro-Fenton process in the removal of organic matter from pharmaceutical industry wastewater

Background and Objective: Wastewater from pharmaceutical industry has high chemical oxygen demand as a result of the presence of organic drugs and antibiotics. In order to meet the environmental requirements, several treatment methods like chemical and electrochemical methods have been widely applied due to their high ability to remove organic compounds from pharmaceutical wastewater. Therefore...

Electrochemical treatment of Acid Red 1 by electro-Fenton and photoelectro-Fenton processes

Small volumes (100 mL) of acidic aqueous solutions with 30-200 mg L TOC of the toxic azo dye Acid Red 1 (AR1) have been comparatively treated by various electrochemical advanced oxidation processes (EAOPs). The electrolytic system consisted of a BDD anode able to produce OH and an air-diffusion cathode that generated H2O2, which subsequently reacted with added Fe to yield additional OH from Fen...
